    Team Ocean Kayak's Captain Fil Spencer was asked to be the Marshall and the weighmaster for the second annual coastal bend C-Bats fishing tournament. The C-Bats are a group of athletic trainers from the Corpus Christi independent school district. The tournament was put on to raise money for scholarships for their athletic programs. This is an annual event with  inshore and offshore categories. 

Captain Spencer's Report

The second annual C- Bats fishing tournament had over 140 participants.  This is a second year in a row that I was lucky enough to be the official weigh masters for the tournament.  Many different categories and some great prizes were given out at the tournament, as well as,  free food and drinks.  All the kids that turned out for the tournament walked away with a $25.00 gift certificate to academy and one lucky kid that caught the heavies perch not only walked away with a $50.00 gift certificates but also a guided fishing trip with Captain Fil Spencer.
