Tournament Synopsis

Good news about this tournament was the weather.  Although it was extremely hot, at least this time the wind cooperated.  We were able to find plenty of fish during the prefish on Friday, however, lower than expected tides and an influx of fresh water made fishing difficult on tournament day for anglers fishing East of I-45.  There were some heart breaks during this tournament, Captain Filip Spencer lost a very nice redfish at the net that would have added to his total catch and maybe placed him in the redfish division.  Vincent Rinando lost his redfish while taking a photo, eliminating his chance to win the overall Slam division.  Robert Harvey and Jeff Herman found even more difficult conditions with a large amount of fresh water runoff in their location and was forced to travel across a long Ferry ride to their second destination.  This made for a very difficult day for them.  Vincent Rinando finally found a nice flounder that was good enough to win first place in the flounder division and add to his overall points total for the series.
